If you have portfolio samples and think you are good enough to be on our show please send us your material. If you need to record sample material or a pilot think about these things:
- Pick a camera you like and get familiar with it. We use Everio and Mini DV cameras from JVC.
- For best results, shoot video when there is plenty of light, otherwise images will contain visual noise.
- Think about the framing. Make sure there is some air above your head but not too much either.
- Use a tripod or a flat surface to stabilize your video. Still video compresses better than moving video.
- If you have a web cam you can use free software to record monologues with good enough quality for the web.
- For the best sound quality get a microphone. Even an inexpensive microphone can make your production better.
- If you want to show us your talent upload some sample videos to web sites like Youtube, MySpace, Facebook or Veoh and send us the link.
- If you want to show us your talent but keep the video private you can use one of these free file transfer services: YouSendIt.com, Senduit.com.
Good luck with the filming!
