Harmony Korine first came to prominence when he wrote the screenplay for Kids (1995), directed by artist Larry Clark. The film, about skateboarding and growing up in New York City in the middle of the AIDS epidemic, earned Korine critical accolades and a notoriety wich he parlayed into his directorial first, Gummo, a severe and surreal pastiche of moments in a small Southern town.
Mark Gonzales, also known as "The Gonz," is a professional skateboarder, artist and poet. He is known in the skateboarding world as the pioneer of street skateboarding, currently skateboarding's most popular form.
